Highland Park Mayor Michael Belsky explains the City's support for acquiring alternative fuel buses to add to the Pace fleet serving Highland Park and surrounding communities. The Earth Tire Foundation strongly supports this position, and encourages local residents to study the issue and let their views be known as well.

The Earth Tire Foundation's clever use of a discarded tire creates a durable and portable warning sign that can be utilized by any Municipality or private company to protect workers needing to have the attention of passing motorists to be safe on the job.

Dr. Mars Lans, Director of the Earth Tire Foundation, gave the last lecture on the last day of school for these Seniors at Highland Park High School on Friday May 22, 2009. The class was Mrs. Diana Hartman's AP Economics class. Dr. Lans and Rita wish all of them a Happy Graduation Day and much success in their future endeavors!

Mayor Michael D. Belsky accepts a Custom Lecture Podium created by the Earth Tire Foundation and donated to the City of Highland Park by Dr. Mars and Margarita Lans, the co-founders of the Foundation. They hope that this environmentally thoughtful gift, made from a discarded SUV tire, will be a small token of their appreciation for the privilege of being able to live and work in beautiful Highland Park.

Dr. Mars and Rita Lans of The Earth Tire Foundation met with Highland Park Mayor Michael D. Belsky to show one of the many original pieces that will be on display at the Earth Tire Foundation’s World Premier Exhibition at Port Clinton Square, Highland Park on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2009 from Noon until 6:00 PM. The Mayor asked The Foundation to construct an Earth Tire lecture podium for City Hall to be used by the Mayor’s office for speeches and presentations. What an honor!

Dr. Lans meets with Councilman James Kirsch at Highland Park City Hall. Councilman Kirsch promised the full support of the City in the Environmental Advocacy Campaigns that are an integral part of The Earth Tire Foundation’s Mission.

Dr. Lans and Councilman Steve W. Mandel discussed the various ways in which the City of Highland Park can coordinate the recycling of discarded tires into attractive, functional displays that can be utilized in many different settings.
