Rita is a native of Minsk, Belarus born into a family of Teachers. She began studying piano at the age of five, and graduated from The Byelorussian State Conservatory in 1983 with a Masters Degree in Piano Performance, Accompaniment, and Piano Instruction. She emigrated to Chicago in 1988, where she taught piano and accompanied students of different ages and raised two wonderful sons. Rita has always had a creative streak in arts and crafts, and was always looking for an outlet to express herself in a non-conventional way. It appears that she definitely met her match when later on in life she and Mars crossed each other’s paths, fell in love, got married, and decided to continue life on the same path together.
With children grown up and on their own, Rita now devotes her time to the Mission of the Foundation. Her experiences growing up in an environment where scrimping, saving and recycling were the very essence of survival itself on a daily basis, lead to an appreciation and respect for a prudent and rational lifestyle. Together with her husband, Mars, she is responsible for the creation and implementation of the unique ideas and designs that are evident in the various products and projects of the Earth Tire Foundation.
Rita is currently searching worldwide, and putting a collection together of unique and comfortable clothing and accessories for the Foundation’s upcoming private label line, “Earthy Attire™”. Look for it here on this website soon. She and her husband reside in the North Shore community of Highland Park, Illinois, where they are active in the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce, and continue to strive to be meaningfully contributing members of society.
